Showers' Daycare will NOT care for a child who has a fever above 100 degrees or above, is vomitting, has diarrhea, a rash, sores in the mouth or shows signs of a contagious disease. Please keep your child home if he/she is ill in any of these forms.
Should any child bcome ill during the course of the day especially with diarrhea, vomitting, fever or "flu-like" symptoms, the PARENTS will be asked to remove their child from Showers' Daycare and to do so PROMPTLY. PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PICK UP THEIR CHILD WITHIN ONE(1) HOUR OF BEING CALLED BY THE PROVIDER. If your child becomes ill as Showers' Daycare, we will keep him/her comfortable and resting on a nap mat until he/she is picked up (1 HOUR). Your child may not return until they are symptom/fever free (without medication) and eating normally for 36 hours.
Please notify Showers' Daycare if your child has been exposed to a contagious disease. This protects your child, and the other children in care. If your child is exposed to any communicable disease Showers' Daycare will notify you as soon as we are notified. Let's all remember to operate by the GOLDEN RULE since the health of the children and providers are at risk.
Any child who has been seen by a physician and has been prescribed an antibiotic for an illness (contagious or not) will NOT be accepted into care until the child had been on medication FOR 24 HOURS. This rule is in place to protect your child and the childcare in case there should be an adverse reaction to medication. The Health and Illness Policy is strictly enforced!
