Under the licensing rules and regulations, Showers' Daycare can only adminster medications when accompanied by the permission to administer medication form.

Prescriptions (even sample) must be clearly labeled as follows:

Be in the original container bearing the original pharmacy label

Prescription name and number

Patient's name
-
Name of mediciation

Expiration date

Physician's name

Directions for dosage

Date the prescription was brought to provider
Children on medication must remain out of care for 24 hours from the time of the first dose of medicine before returning to care. This is to protect the child in case of allergic reaction to the medication. No exceptions will be made.
If the child refuses to take medication, the parent will be notified and mist come to administer the medication. Medication is to be given at home whenever possible especially eye drops & nebulizing treatments.
Non prescription medicatins must be accompanied by the permission to administer medication form filled out by the person with prescription authority and the child's physician. All non-prescription mediciation MUST be original container bearing the origianl label, child's name and age, expiration date and directions for dosages.
Child Abuse Reporting
Showers' Daycare is required by state law to report and incidences of suspected child abuse or domestic violence. Our first concern is the safety of your child, and if we suspect he/she has been subjected to abuse, we will file a report to the proper authorites.
